Tekniker reaffirms its role as a leading R&D organisation thanks to new partnerships in strategic sectors
AVS, BIOLAN, Giroa, Grupo NBI, and MAIER collaborating organisations of Tekniker

Tekniker reinforces its relationship with companies operating in the Basque industrial fabric and boosts technological transfers to different sectors with the incorporation of AVS, BIOLAN, Giroa and Grupo NBI to its programme for collaborating organisations and MAIER that has recently renewed its status as such.

The Tekniker technology centre is incorporating more collaborative agreements with businesses operating in the Basque industrial fabric. Thanks to an extensive portfolio of collaborating organisations, Tekniker, a member of the BRTA (Basque Research and Technology Alliance), will be able to reaffirm its transcendental role as a leading organisation as regards transferring R&D and cutting-edge technologies to the market.

More specifically, Tekniker has signed new agreements with AVS, BIOLAN, Giroa, Grupo NBI and MAIER to renew their ties with the technology centre and apply the technology centre’s know-how and solutions in the different strategic sectors in which these companies are operating.

From the health sector to outer space

BIOLAN is a new collaborating organisation that has signed up with Tekniker to design integrated sensor devices that combine embedded electronics and measuring principles. Support will be provided throughout the entire product development process.

OSASUNBERRI is one the most outstanding projects of this collaboration and a preferential initiative submitted by the Basque Government to their Spanish counterparts to receive 2021 Euskadi Next funding.

Tekniker has signed a new collaboration agreement with Giroa to develop advanced and efficient management systems for unique infrastructures that are capable of minimising power consumption in pumping systems and of optimising generation and transmission capabilities by combining renewables.

The technology centre has also joined forces with Grupo NBI to offer its surface engineering capabilities in areas such as tribology, physical & chemical functional coatings or surface texturing as well as in production engineering, metrology and automation of production processes to optimise and enhance design, manufacturing and commercialisation processes for precision bearings and other industrial products.

Likewise, and thanks to the support offered by AVS, a leading company specialised in aerospace applications, particle physics and astronomy. Tekniker’s efforts are currently focused on developing cutting-edge equipment for scientific facilities to enhance the organisation’s capabilities in terms of advanced controls, surface engineering, dimensional metrology and mechatronics.

Finally, MAIER, a manufacturer of aesthetic and functional components for the automotive industry, has renewed its agreement and status as a Tekniker collaborating organisation to give continuity to the work done in recent years in areas addressing electronic product and surface engineering and industrial automation.

All of the above collaboration agreements fall within the framework of a strategy that has made it possible to achieve a better coordination of R&D activities and establish stable long-term relationships that will strengthen the bonds between all the parties involved and produce much better results. This model also features a number of benefits associated with communication and the brand, use of infrastructures under preferential conditions and strategic support applicable to third-party relationships.
