Tekniker showcases its capabilities at the ‘Matchmaking Innovación en Salud’ forum on how medical devices can be developed
The technology centre has designed an innovative rehabilitation system for bed-ridden patients

The goal of the event was to enable contacts between the main stakeholders to enhance the fabric of the industrial healthcare sector.

Tekniker participated in a forum addressing new solutions associated with smart medical devices and robotics organised in San Sebastian by Fenin, the Spanish Platform for Technological Innovation in Healthcare.

The ‘Matchmaking Innovación en Salud’ forum held on October 25 & 26 provided a meeting point for public institutions, R&D&I groups, start-ups, I+D+I groups, clinical and technological centres and companies with extensive experience in this sector. The ultimate goal was to enhance the industrial fabric of the healthcare system.

The event offered a great opportunity to address the needs of the healthcare sector and share knowledge. Tekniker presented several successful projects carried out with companies, start-ups and healthcare research groups.

In one of these projects, called Indarpresst, jointly carried out by Tekniker an the Donosti University Hospital, a prototype was developed for a portable device to perform strength training exercises on the lower limbs of bed-ridden patients.

Tekniker placed the organisation’s technological capabilities at the disposal of the attendees to enable them to develop medical devices such as precision mechatronics, customised embedded electronics, biosensors and ergonomic, miniaturised designs focused on usability and industrialisation. The centre is ISO 13485 certified in the area of quality assurance to design and develop these devices.

We are dealing with crucial knowledge that makes it possible to promote new developments from the early stages of validation to the most advanced development phases prior to marketing and releasing new medical devices into the market.
