IK4-TEKNIKER to participate in the 19th Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technology Conference

IK4-TEKNIKER will attend the 19th Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technology Conference to be held at the San Sebastian Technology Park from 12 to 14 June 2013.

The technology centre will play an active role in the conference, presenting papers and sharing a stand with IK4-IDEKO, as part of the IK4 Research Alliance. Moreover, researchers from IK4-TEKNIKER will sit on the conference’s scientific, technical and organising committees.

The Conference

The conference will feature technical sessions focusing on themes of great interest and relevance in the field of metal-mechanical manufacturing. Monographic round table debates will also be held, focusing on themes such as the capacity for diversification centred around manufacturing technologies and developments in new materials (mainly by the aeronautical and automotive sectors) which may serve to push the industry forward.

The Programme

The 19th Conference will feature papers on issues such as sustainability, process improvement and innovation, smart technology in manufacturing systems, the machining of large parts and the design of large-scale machines, the manufacturing of special components and additive manufacturing.

Participants

The Machine Tool and Manufacturing Technology Conference was held for the first time in 1976, and has, from that moment, been a key meeting point between industry, research centres and universities – an excellent opportunity to present the latest advances in the sector and to foster the progress of manufacturing technology in general.
