Eibar SMEs incorporate innovation

SMEs are managing to incorporate technological innovations thanks to the Gertatu programme

The Gertatu programme being promoted by Eibar Town Council is helping enterprises identify their technological challenges and improve their competitiveness.

To generate a new innovative, entrepreneurial ecosystem in the business base of Eibar. This is the main aim of the Gertatu programme, being promoted by Eibar Town Council and in which IK4-TEKNIKER is actively participating as a technology partner.

In this move, the centre is working to carry out technological studies enabling enterprises with fewer than 50 members of staff and based in Eibar to spot their challenges, and to accompany them in this technological drive to try and achieve competitive improvement.

The most salient projects developed by the enterprises in conjunction with IK4-TEKNIKER within the framework of this programme are as follows:

AIBE S.A.: Design standardisation

Aibe is an enterprise with 30 staff and devoted to the design and production of tools and the machining of high-precision components for the aeronautical, machine-tool and automotive sectors, among others.

The aim of the collaboration with IK4-TEKNIKER has been to review one of the production lines -hydraulic tools- in order to cut design time and cost and directly reduce the manufacturing and assembly costs involved. This move will allow Aibe to be more competitive in its commitment to provide customers with a better response.

INDUSTRIAS PAMPO S.L.: Increasing production plant availability

Pampo is an enterprise devoted to the manufacture of all kinds of wire springs destined for the automotive sector, renewable energies, white goods and kitchenware, the locksmithing industry, machine tools and the maritime sector. Pampo currently has 27 members of staff.

The aim of the collaboration has been to spot the improvements to be introduced in the production plant in order to increase output.

“Thanks to the support of IK4-TEKNIKER and the analysis and monitoring carried out, it has been possible to improve tool coding, internal material flow and ensure the control of the CNC programs,” pointed out Ander Ormaetxea, CEO of Industrias Pampo.

URKOTRONIK S.A.: Upgrading of the business model

With 22 members of staff, Urkotronik is a vending enterprise with over 30 years of experience devoted to the sale of vending machines and hotel and catering equipment.

The aim of IK4-TEKNIKER’s work was to update the business model for the selective collection of containers by means of a collecting and compacting system.

“As a result of the collaboration with IK4-TEKNIKER we have put our initial business model study of a new initiative on a firm footing and we want to launch it within Urkotronik,” a representative of the enterprise pointed out.

NEURTEK S.A.: Introduction of technology watch and competitive intelligence

With a staff of 18, Neurtek specialises in technical solutions for quality control and materials research and operates in the national and international spheres.

In the development of the project, the bases have been established for introducing a system of technology watch and competitive intelligence that will enable the enterprise to analyse the information about its milieu and be able to make decisions with less risk.

CODESYNTAX S.L.: Diagnosis and proposals for the technology watch function

CodeSyntax is a software enterprise of 15 people, devoted to turning the Internet into a truly global experience through internationalisation and localisation services.

The aim of the collaboration has been to make a diagnosis and proposal about the process and systematics of Technology Watch that is currently being carried out at CodeSyntax.

“Our collaboration with IK4-TEKNIKER has enabled us at CodeSyntax to improve our technology watch system, which is essential in a sector as changeable as ours, and in the world of ICT and internet applications,” said Eneko Astigarraga, CEO of CodeSyntax.

So the Gertatu programme has enabled these enterprises to incorporate technological innovations with the support of experts which they would otherwise not have been able to do owing to their limited size.
