IK4-TEKNIKER and GH underpin a technological collaboration agreement

GH Cranes & Components joins IK4-TEKNIKER as a collaborating organisation

The technology centre will support the company to develop a strategic R&D&I plan to design, manufacture and market high added-value cranes.

The Gipuzkoa-based company GH Cranes & Components designs and manufactures cranes and has recently become a collaborative organisation of the IK4-TEKNIKER technology centre as a result of an agreement that was signed by both parties.

The agreement was formalised at the technology centre’s headquarters in Eibar during an event attended by the CEOs GH Cranes & Components, José Antonio Guerra and IK4-TEKNIKER, Alejandro Bengoa.

GH Cranes & Components is a world-leading company in the hoisting sector that manufactures an extensive range of standard and customised gantry cranes for different sectors. The company also designs and manufactures a full range of hoisting blocks, accessories and spares with resilience to meet the needs of customers all over the world. The firm boasts one of the sector’s most extensive product lines comprising gantries, jibs, carriages, brackets and other products used to hoist and shift loads.

In the last five years, GH Cranes & Components and IK4-TEKNIKER have been collaborating closely in joint technological development actions.

Thanks to this new agreement, IK4-TEKNIKER will actively support GH Cranes & Components in the development of their strategic R&D&I plan. Consequently, IK4-TEKNIKER will provide its know-how on system calculus, modelling and simulation; on the behaviour of mechanical components and machines throughout their entire life cycle (design, manufacture, validation, operation and maintenance); tribology; the utilisation of test benches to correlate monitored signals and degradation mechanisms; and life cycle modelling.

With the signing of the agreement as a collaborating organisation, GH Cranes & Components will become a strategic IK4-TEKNIKER customer. The aim of this strategic relationship is to further the knowledge of both organisations, share technological plans and explore new technology and market options for the company to carry out joint, long-lasting and extensive R&D&I projects to enhance their impact on the business of GH Cranes & Components.

With the incorporation of GH, the group of collaborative organisations now has more than twenty members such as Aernnova, Alfa Lan, Doimak, Egile Corporation, Etxetar, Fagor Automation, Goialde, Goizper, Ibermática, iLine Microsystems, Jaureguizar, Juaristi, Kutxabank, Lazpiur, Maher Holding, Maier, Masermic, Ojmar, ONA, Pasaban, Siemens Gamesa, Ulma Handling Systems, Zayer and Zigor.
