IK4-TEKNIKER is participating in a workshop which is linked to the EUROSUNMED project

Between 7 and 11 April 2014, the members of the EUROSUNMED European project will be taking part in a workshop on concentrated solar power, energy storage and grid integration within the International School and the Workshop on Photovoltaics, Concentrated Solar Power, Storage and Grid Integration; it is scheduled to take place at the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation and Research (MAScIR) in Rabat (Morocco).

During this event, IK4-TEKNIKER will be presenting its knowledge in three papers on concentrated solar power, power storage systems and thermal storage systems.

The various sessions will be organised over 4 days and one of them will be devoted to a day with specialists, who will be sharing the latest developments in the field of renewable energy generation. The day is being organised in collaboration with REELCOOP (Research Cooperation in Renewable Energy Technologies for Electricity Generation).

Technologies for taking advantage of solar energy

Morocco is gradually joining in the building of the first solar thermal power stations after the starting up of a growing number of facilities in the USA, and above all in Spain, which is a world benchmark both technologically and industrially. At the same time, with its growing solar and wind potential, Morocco is aware of the importance of the storage of large quantities of energy in times of surplus so that it can be used during peak consumption.

That is why these and other subjects of interest have led this North African country to organise this conference, which will be attended by important technologists in the matter. The event will also be drawing students and professionals working in the renewables sector.
