Technological diagnosis: Territory

Industrial maps to promote local technological development

The technology centre, within the framework of its innovation and competitive intelligence solution, is collaborating with other development agencies to draw up industrial maps and competitive plans to further the level of technological development of companies.

In order to learn more about the technological reality of the industry, identify new opportunities and enhance the capillarity of all the progress made in terms of industry 4.0 in the industrial fabric, the IK4-TEKNIKER technology centre is offering the design of ad-hoc actions to support technological development at companies from a local perspective.

Territorial industrial maps provide industrial analysis tools that are used to asses existing inter-relationships between companies, identify driving-force companies and also learn about the main challenges that companies will have to cope with in the future. The technology centre is also collaborating with development agencies to design actions geared towards discovering and assessing the degree of development achieved by different technologies in an industry.

The technology centre is collaborating with development agencies, business associations and industrial groups to jointly develop tools for the ultimate purpose of analysing and updating any information connected to the situation of the local industry.

IK4-TEKNIKER intends to update the SME service portfolio via technological development, enhanced diversification and by generating new value chains in line with the Basque Country's smart specialisation strategy. The technology centre, therefore, has devised a number of solutions to enhance sectorial development to identify existing opportunities available to local companies in those sectors they believe are strategic.

The end result of these projects gives rise to new industrial development ideas.
