A pioneering offer in the calibration of spline gauges

IK4-TEKNIKER is launching the Basque Country's first "Spline Gauge Calibration Service"

IK4-TEKNIKER is launching the Basque Country's first "Spline Gauge Calibration Service", to carry out ENAC accredited calibration of spline plugs and rings.

IK4-TEKNIKER's Metrology Unit has launched the first service in the Basque Country for "Calibrating spline gauges", which has the accreditations of the National Accreditation Board (ENAC). This new incorporation into the centre's technological offer is one of the first services of this type on a national and European level. The goal: to support the needs of industrial companies, above all in the automotive sector.

Spline gauges are routinely used in the automotive and aeronautical industries, but also in other industries to carry out strength or power transmission tasks. These components need to be verified to ensure they function correctly and to rule out errors in high-volume processes.

Companies need to deal with calibration in order to give these gauges traceability, and that is why this new service being offered by IK4-TEKNIKER not only offers ENAC accreditation, but also offers the approvals of British Standards, the ISO and the ANSI (American National Standards Institute).

This new technological offer opens up the possibility of fully guaranteed calibrating of spline plugs as well as rings, an option which until now has not been possible in Spain. The initiative comes within the centre’s aim of keeping its technological offer updated at all times and to adapt it to the needs of companies.

This service, which the IK4-TEKNIKER researchers can offer on the centre’s new facilities as well as in situ on the client’s premises, is already being requested by various companies, above all in the automotive sector.
