Lubrication Management trains 500 Petronor employees

Training in Industrial Lubrication Best Practices

Nearly 500 employees of the Petronor refinery attended practical sessions given at the refinery itself by Lubrication Management on “Training in Industrial Lubrication Best Practices” to minimize the wear sustained by the equipment and to extend its useful service life.

Between February and April 2014 nearly 500 employees –plant operatives and technicians– of the Petronor refinery attended training geared towards “Training in Industrial Lubrication Best Practices” given by Lubrication Management at the Petronor facilities located in Muskiz, Bizkaia.

The training, given by Lubrication Management's researcher-consultant Jorge Alarcón, focussed on getting to know and understanding the importance of appropriate lubrication and the right conditions of the equipment in order to minimize the wear it sustains and, more than anything, to extend its useful service life.

The sessions covered subjects like the importance of lubrication, the effects of using clean, dry lubricant and the resulting cut in equipment wear. In addition, the importance of the storage and safe transfer of the lubricant was emphasised and so was its impact on daily maintenance and operation tasks.

Lubrication Management

Lubrication Management offers a broad range of predictive maintenance services geared not only towards the petrochemical sector but also towards the power generation, transport or nuclear sectors, among others; it also provides training in predictive techniques to keep equipment functioning efficiently and increase the dependability of industrial plants.

It also offers a consultancy service in managing lubrication to maximize equipment reliability and availability, and at the same time, to reduce the problems arising out of inadequate lubrication.

All this is focussed on predictive, proactive maintenance by means of lubricant analysis to determine the state of the lubricated systems and critical components.
