Technology for autonomous navigation

IK4-TEKNIKER’s robot guide is able to navigate autonomously

The robot guide manufactured by IK4-TEKNIKER is capable of navigating autonomously and moving around complex environments.

IK4-TEKNIKER's Autonomous and Intelligent Systems Unit has built a mobile, autonomous, ‘multifunctional’ service robot which includes basic “smart” capabilities geared particularly towards assistance activities in indoor environments.

Autonomous navigation is one of the capabilities enabling this robot guide to move around complex environments occupied by humans without it being remotely operated. That is why it is capable of navigating in environments not specially adapted to its features; it does so by planning and executing trajectories, avoiding obstacles and incorporating recovery mechanisms when faced with complex situations.

This robot will be guiding visitors around the IK4-TEKNIKER stand at the forthcoming edition of the Machine-Tool Biennial taking place from 2 to 7 June at the BEC in Barakaldo (Basque Country).
