Zayer joins IK4-TEKNIKER as a new collaborating organization

The collaboration is carried out following the signing of an agreement between the two organisations

The R&D centre is launching a new programme of advantages for collaborating companies.

The Alava-based machine-tool company Zayer, S.A., a specialist in milling machines and CNC machining centres, has become a collaborating organisation of the IK4-TEKNIKER R&D centre following the recent signing of an agreement between the two organisations.

Zayer is one of the Basque benchmarks in the machine-tool sector. Firmly committed towards R&D&i, the company exports over 70% of its output, has a staff of 165 people and facilities for addressing challenges like building machines up to 13 metres high.

With the new agreement, IK4-TEKNIKER and Zayer are reinforcing an R&D bond going back several years, since among other areas for collaboration the R&D centre will be able to accompany the company in specifying its strategic plan for R&D&i by acting as an expert and technology watch agent.

The Alavese company will also be able to avail itself of the new programme of advantages for collaborating organisations which IK4-TEKNIKER has recently set up. The programme boosts the strategic relationship with various companies which, after signing an agreement, can achieve a relationship and co-operation in R&D&i that is stable in time and offers a host of advantages.

The main aims of IK4-TEKNIKER’s programme include the aligning of R&D strategies, the driving forward of collaborative projects and access to advance, customised information about developments.

Besides gaining access to interlocution on the highest level, twice-yearly meetings with the management team, and an organic relationship as potential members of IK4-TEKNIKER’s Board of Trustees, the collaborating organisations will have a person, a KAM or Key Account Manager who is responsible for the whole relationship between their organisation and the Basque R&D centre.

The collaborating organisations, coordinating in advance with IK4-TEKNIKER and under preferential conditions, will also be able to reserve and make use of various facilities and services for its projects, like the assembly workshop, the ultra-precision workshop, the clean room, the bunker, the auditorium, meeting and board rooms, as well as the centre’s own hall as a showroom for holding events.

After Zayer’s incorporation, the centre’s group of collaborating organisations now comprises Aernova Aerospace, Alfa Lan, Doimak, Egile Corporation, Etxe Tar, Fagor Automation, Gamesa, Goialde, Goizper, Goratu, Ibermática, Jaureguizar, Kutxa, Lazpiur, Maser, Nivac, Ojmar, Pasaban and Zigor, plus Zayer.
