The accreditations have been endorsed by internationally recognised bodies like the STLE and the ICML.
The quest for research excellence is ongoing in the activity of an R&D centre like IK4-TEKNIKER. In this respect, 3 diagnosticians, 2 consultants and 9 technicians in the industrial oil laboratory have recently obtained official certification as experts in lubrication.
The technicians have been accredited as Qualified Lubrication Specialists, the only independent certification for lubrication professionals that verifies their broad knowledge of lubrication engineering.
The certification recognises individuals who have advanced knowledge about the basics of lubrication and best practices in lubrication maintenance in industrial sectors. The accreditations have been endorsed by internationally recognised bodies like the STLE and the ICML.
This recognition of their capabilities comes about within the framework of the decision made by the centre to drive forward excellence and expand its lubrication services for industrial companies as part of a new comprehensive service, Lubrication Management.
Besides offering analyses of lubricating oils and advice in the sphere of lubrication management, the centre is offering a service to diagnose the causes of faults in mechanical components, which is designed to cut costs and improve productivity. What is more, IK4-TEKNIKER's team of lubrication specialists also offers a full programme of training adapted to the needs of industrial companies.
Certification bodies
ICML: The International Council for Machinery Lubrication is a worldwide, not-for-profit organisation devoted to helping lubrication professionals be successful in their careers. Its certification exams are in line with the ISO 18436 standard and can be sat all over the world in various languages.
STLE: Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers offers three certificates that are valid for three years and which then have to be renewed. These certificates are designed to be compatible with the ISO 17024 standard.

CLS (Certified Lubrication Specialist): Certified Lubrication Specialist is a certificate awarded by the STLE for lubrication professionals and validates knowledge about lubrication engineering.
